+ Space Telescopes
While at the University of Arizona, I was exposed to a great deal of new technology and thinking about space telescopes. Several professors at the College of Optical Science and the Lunar and Planetary Lab were involved in research on large aperture space mirrors and the Mirror Lab in Tucson provided first hand inspiration. Here are several conceptual designs completed in 2006, when I was excited by novel methods of deployment and aperture segmenting.

+ Hexagonal Segmented Mirror
This is a partial illustration of how a segmented mirror array might look, with support beams running to the secondary mirror.
+ Spherical Section Mirror - Deployment
An illustration of a mirror comprised of spherical sections during deployment.
+ Spherical Section Mirror - Deployed
A partial view of the deployed spherical section mirror array.
